It’s been six months since our family joined as members of Young Living Essential Oils. I’ve always preferred the more natural approach to healthcare and I’ve been very pleased with this route we have taken.
A few reasons why I love using Essential Oils. . .
1. It works
- A natural Antibiotic. For example, oregano, thieves and rosemary put in an empty capsule (or mixed with milk, etc) is a great ‘antibiotic’ without the unfortunate side effects that prescription antibiotics present. I was able to recently heal a sinus infection with the oregano/thieves/rosemary blend within 3 days. Essential Oils only target the bad bacteria, not the good.
- When our children have been around others with a cold, illness, etc I will put a drop of Thieves Essential Oil on the bottoms of their feet at night and this often will prevent the illness from beginning or only becoming a mild illness.
- When two of our children had a nighttime dry cough from a cold, putting a drip of frankincense and peppermint on their chest (mixed with some olive oil) calmed their coughs within 5 minutes for the rest of the night. This happened 4 separate times. Coincidence? I don’t think so.
- My husband suffers from  back pain due to many years as an athlete. Panaway, Cypress and Wintergreen provide GREAT pain relief. I also hear Copaiba and Clove are awesome.
- Clove is often used by some to help with teething pain.
- Wintergreen, peppermint and spearmint are all great for metabolism enhancers (mints are not recommend for nursing mothers though – they can cause a limit in milk supply)
- A drop of Patchouli on the wrist calms an upset stomach right away. DiGize also works great for tummies. Peppermint is also soothing!
- Peppermint, Stress Away and Panaway are all great for calming headaches.
- Nighttime croup is eased with oregano, thieves and RC.
- Frankincense is a great immunity booster and anti-cancer oil.
- Peace & Calming and Lavender on the feet at bedtime is great for insomnia (or rubbed on legs helps with restless legs)
- Ear Infections are calmed with Melrose
- Myrrh helps heals stretch marks and works as a sunscreen
- Lavender or Purification is awesome for itchy bug bites. Lavender helps heal cuts/scratches/bruises and burns very quickly!
I would be happy to go on and on . . .
Of course, I have to say there is no way I can say 100% these will work for you (and in a serious situation you definitely need to seek medical attention). Be wise and responsible with any approach or item you use! For us, and MANY others, we love them and they work!
2. Safety
Overdosing and side-effects from over the counter and prescription drugs can lead, and does, to many unwanted health concerns and even death. There are over 450 deaths a year just from acetaminophen (Tylenol), based on reports from poison control centers.
3. Purity
There are many ‘essential oil’ companies available.  Young Living’s Seed to Seal promise ensures you are getting a safe, highest-grade product that will be effective! There are cheaper oils available, but they will not work as well and/or you will need to use much more.
4. Cost-EffectiveÂ
Our large family purchases our own health coverage. With proper vitamins and Young Living Essential Oils we prevent many illnesses and are able to heal rapidly from most everything using the knowledge of essential oils. This means less trips to the Dr and saving our money! The cost of Young Living Essential Oils is certainly less than one Dr visit, labs and any medication needed! There are some great oils under $20!

Absolutely not. Being a member is just great because you are able to be enrolled in Essential Rewards (a super cool way to earn points from your order towards free items) and you receive wholesale pricing on any items you want to add!
Speaking with other mothers the subject just arises and it’s fun to share how these work so well. I have not done any shows or anything. But, I hear that Young Living treats their members well when they do refer new members. Thats a great bonus if you do interest a friend who is looking for a natural healthcare approach anyway! It’s up to you!
There are no hidden fees at all.
